I CAN'T DO TEQUILA SHOTS, SO I'M MAKING DRUNKEN TEQUILA MANGOS INSTEAD

Yields: 16 servings

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 1 day 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4

ripe mangos, skin removed, cut into 1" chunks

  • 14 oz.

    tequila

  • Zest and juice of 1 lime

  • 2 tbsp.

    kosher salt

  • 1/4 tsp.

    chili powder

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine mango, tequila, and lime juice. Let sit 24 hours in the refrigerator for mango to soak.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix lime zest, salt, and chili powder until combined.
  3. Drain mango well (you can keep the infused tequila to serve as a drink too). Skewer a piece of mango with a toothpick. Dip one edge into zest mixture. Arrange on a platter to serve.

Classic tequila shots are fun, but these boozy mango bites are an elevated, fruity take that's even better. To make them, we soaked mango chunks in a mixture of lime juice and tequila, then dipped them into lime and chili salt for margarita-inspired bites that are soon to be your new party staple. Bonus: You can even keep the infused tequila to shoot or add to your favorite cocktail later! Make these bites, and you'll have a summer favorite to turn to again and again.

If you're really not a fan, you can leave out the chili powder, but we highly recommend it to add a bit of a contrasting bite to these mangos. Have Tajín on hand? Use that instead.
