PATRICK SCHWARZENEGGER JUST REVEALED HOW MANY PROTEIN SCOOPS WERE ACTUALLY IN HIS 'WHITE LOTUS' SHAKES

Love to hate him or hate to love him, Patrick Schwarzenegger's White Lotus character, Saxon, was nothing if not consistent when it came to his protein regimen. The man packed his own blender for God's sake.

And while the celebrity offspring-turned-actor's real-life shake isn't nearly as intense as his on-screen alter ego's (he loves a peanut butter and banana smoothie), the fictional version wasn't actually fictional or a prop. While chatting with Delish over Ketel One and Tanqueray White Lotus Vesper Martinis (the official liquor sponsors of the show), Schwarzenegger admitted that he actually drank the water and protein powder combo, which he says tasted like "chalk"—and included a lot more scoops than we thought.

"No, they’re not [as unhinged]," Schwarzenegger says of his real-life recipe, while discussing the series at Buddakan in NYC, where he stopped by to surprise fans. "But [creator] Mike White thought it was so funny to put like seven scoops of protein in the shakes. He thought it was hilarious. He thought it was so funny if Saxon just kept scooping and scooping and scooping. And afterwards we would blend it and I would try it and give it to Lochlan."

"It was just chalk, like pure chalk," he adds. "It was awful. But mine tastes good in real life."

While Schwarzenegger might not have gone full-blown method actor for his role in White Lotus (at least not enough to adopt his seven-scoop recipe), he does share Saxon's passion for protein IRL.

"I do make some protein ice cream at home," he says. "That's just protein, some milk, sometimes I'll throw Oreos in to make it semi-healthy but not extremely healthy, so it still tastes good. But, my fiancé makes fun of me a lot for all the protein desserts that I make."

Schwarzenegger even filled a suitcase with his protein-packed Mosh Bars, which he co-founded with his mom Maria Shriver, for filming.

"Oh my god, I brought all of my Mosh Bars with me to Thailand. I literally had a checked luggage full of Mosh Bars and snacks," he says. "When I first went out there, I was kind of worried about the snack situation. And so I brought so many, and then I went through boxes. And then people on set started coming to me, they wanted to take them."

"The ADs, the hair and makeup people, the other cast members," Schwarzenegger continues. "Sam Nivola [Lochlan] was the biggest thief of them all. He would take all of my bars. I was the snack king on set."
