I have been a Poppi stan for years and while I definitely play favorites—Doc Pop, Cherry Cola, and Orange are a fixture in my fridge—I'm always down to try a new Poppi flavor. So, when I caught wind that the better-for-you soda was rolling out a new seasonal flavor for summer, I was keen to give it a try.
Punch Pop, a.k.a. the brand's fruit punch-inspired bevvy, officially joined the Poppi portfolio in May—and with a whole new look. The limited-edition flavor comes in a similarly limited-edition can designed by artist Matthew Langille. While I was immediately drawn to the whimsical design, which feels so on theme for the season, the flavor profile is the real reason I'm formally dubbing it my new favorite.
Punch Pop is described as "a modern take on classic fruit punch," and boy, does it deliver exactly that. The drink has notes of apple, orange, lemon, and cherry with a slight fizz, making it ideal for poolside sipping. Like the rest of the prebiotic soda category, it has an equally impressive ingredient profile to match its top-notch flavor: 30 calories, 5 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fiber, and natural fruit juice. Plus, it's free from artificial dyes.
While fruit punch tends to be a little sweet for my palate, Poppi's rendition offered the perfect amount. It was definitely a sweet treat, but not overly sugary, and tasted so refreshing. I already know I'll be dreaming about it on the next hot summer day.
I'm not the only one who's obsessed, either. The internet is, too. Fans raved about the flavor, with some describing it as a "fizzy Hawaiian punch."
"It definitely has a tropical hint to it. It’s not just fruit punch, it’s very much Hawaiian Punch plus fizz," one TikToker said in a review video. "Yeah, yeah. That is amazing," another reviewer said. "I’m so glad I bought six cans. Six cans was not enough. It’s like punch."
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to stock up on enough cans to last me until the next limited-edition drop.
