The Super Bowl Experience and Taste of the NFL are two of the biggest, while concerts, celebrity-hosted events, and a (free) food festival out of Los Angeles bringing together some of New Orleans’s best restaurants are also accessible to the masses. Tostitos Cantina at St. Roch Market

When: Thursday, January 30 through Sunday, February 2 and Thursday, February 6 through Saturday, February 8

Where: St. Roch Market

This brand event at St. Roch Market, home to a great group of local up-and-coming chefs and restaurants, challenges the food hall’s vendors to work Tostitos products into their menus. Buy a tasting menu ($30-$35) to try dishes from three different food stalls.

Super Bowl Opening Night

When: Monday, February 3, 5 to 10 p.m.

Where: Caesars Superdome

This opening night kickoff event is part of the Super Bowl Experience, a five-day event at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center during Super Bowl week. It’s a chance for fans to check out the Superdome in advance of the game, which is also the only time the Chiefs and Eagles will be in the same place before Super Bowl Sunday. The event will feature live entertainment, family activities, food, the chance to take photos with players, and media interviews. Tickets are $20.

Gin&Juice Party at NOPSI

When: Thursday, February 6, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Where: Above the Grid at NOPSI

Snoop Dogg, who is also hosting the NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6 at the Saenger Theatre, is promoting his and Dre’s gin-based cocktail line during a rooftop party at the NOPSI. Tickets start at $40 and go up to $400 for a VIP table.

Pepsi NOLA Eats Fest

When: Friday, February 7, and Saturday, February 8 from noon to 5 p.m.

Where: Woldenberg Park on the Riverfront

This free food festival at Woldenberg Park brings together a group of beloved local restaurants like Morrow’s, Willie Mae’s NOLA, We Dat’s, Boswell’s Jamaican Grill, and Los Jefes Grill. Live music from Mannie Fresh and a crawfish boil competition on Friday make this one of the more New Orleans-centric events in town during Super Bowl week. Fred Minnick Live

When: Friday, February 7 at 3 p.m.

Where: New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District

Whiskey expert Fred Minnick is hosting the third Live Bourbon Experience as part of Super Bowl week festivities. The event will feature a performance by multi-country artist Dierks Bentley, live interviews with guests like Rob McElhenney and Ian Somerhalder, high-end bourbon tastings, food, and more. Tickets start at $100.

Unwell NOLA

When: Friday, February 7 from 3 p.m. to midnight

Where: The Rusty Nail

Where: Mardi Gras World

This blowout party brings together Shaq (aka DJ Diesel), John Summit, Ludacris, and more at Mardi Gras World on Friday night, billing itself as part carnival, part circus, and part festival. Tickets, which start at $400 are are apparently selling quickly, include carnival rides and games, interactive circus performances, and a 6-hour open bar.

Family Style Fest New Orleans

When: Saturday, February 8 from 3 to 8 p.m.

Where: StudioBe, 2941 Royal Street

One of LA’s most popular new food festivals is coming to New Orleans for Super Bowl weekend, partnering with beloved local artist Brandan “BMIKE” Odums for a free event. A thoughtful mix of some of the city’s hottest and most iconic restaurants includes Acamaya, Chicken’s Kitchen, Miss Linda the Yakamein Lady, Li’l Dizzy’s Cafe, Cane & Table, Turkey and the Wolf, Mister Mao, and more. Beloved New Orleans brewery Urban South is gathering four os the region’s very best pitmasters — including Luling’s own Gonzo’s Smokehouse — for a free, family-friendly event on Saturday. Taste world-class barbecue and a limited beer collaboration between Urban South and Gonzo’s, called “Burnt End.”

Mister Oso x Ortega Tailgate Taco Pop-Up

When: Saturday, February 8 at 3 p.m.

Where: Mister Oso

Iconic taco fixings brand Ortega is taking over Mister Oso for Super Bowl weekend, dishing out tacos, Frito pie, and more. The afternoon event is open to the public and free to attend (food is not free), but you can RSVP here to save your spot. There will be a giveaway for two tickets to the Super Bowl at the event.

Taste of the NFL

When: Saturday, February 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Where: National World War II Museum

This is one of the Super Bowl’s most famous annual events, featuring top chefs, NFL stars, and live entertainment, this year taking place at the World War II Museum. The party, which features food from 25 chefs from New Orleans and beyond, is hosted by Andrew Zimmern, Carla Hall, Tim Love, and more. This is an event for those with deep pockets — tickets are $750 each, benefiting GENYOUth’s End Student Hunger Fund.

The Player’s Tailgate

When: Sunday, February 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: 1540 Canal Street

This VIP (read: expensive) tailgate takes place on Super Bowl Sunday blocks from the Superdome, offering the opportunity to rub shoulders with 18 celebrity chefs like Marcus Samuelsson, Marc Murphy, and Aaron May, and dozens of NFL stars. The luxury pre-game setting includes cabanas, huge screens, food, and top-shelf drinks. Tickets are $975 per person, with cabanas going for a whopping $12,500.

Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Tailgate

When: Sunday, February 9 from noon to 5 p.m.

Where: Mardi Gras World

Guy Fieri is out to beat the world record set at last year’s Super Bowl in Vegas for biggest tailgate with this year’s event at Mardi Gras World (the term “tailgate” is used loosely here). Part food festival and part music festival, the tailgate will feature local restaurants like Bourree, Seither’s, Joey K’s, Cochon King, and Parasol’s.
